What’s new for Primary Teachers?

Base rate salary increase:

4% from 30 November 2007
4% from 2 July 2008
4% from 1 July 2009

Increase to unit value:

$3650 from 4 July 2007
$3800 from 2 July 2008
$4000 from 1 July 2009

Lump sum payment:

$750 for members (pro rata for part time teachers)

Paid sabbatical leave:

40 opportunities of 10 weeks from 2009
50 opportunities of 10 weeks from 2010

Up to 50 NZ sign language allowances:

Equivalent to a unit from 2008

Tutor teacher allowance (for Yr 1 PRTs employed 0.5-0.8 FTTE):

$1000 from 2008

Additional units:

5000 additional units from 2009

5000 additional units from 2010

Current negotiation status - new agreement is in effect
